Sanctuary Lane, Storrington

The friendly village of Storrington is at the foot of the South Downs, in beautiful Sussex countryside with wonderful walks on the South Downs National Park and National Trust heath & woodland nearby at St Georges Warren. Sanctuary Lane is in the area known as Heath Common, a network of little lanes winding between Rock Road and Washington Road,     containing interesting properties of differing age & design in semi-wooded surroundings.  This property has an outlook to the Downs from the south decking terrace.

Storrington village is about 1½  miles to the west, with local shops & traders providing good everyday shopping. A Waitrose store & John Lewis Collection Point is in Old Mill Square, as well as a Costa coffee shop.  There is also a 6am-10pm Tesco Express & petrol station. Larger Tesco and Sainsbury's stores are in neighbouring Pulborough.  The village also has a Post Office, library, health centre, banks, deli, restaurants, coffee shops and good    community amenities.  Leisure activities include golf, mountain-biking on the Downs; gliding at Parham; and Chanctonbury Leisure Centre/Gym (swimming at Steyning).

There is sailing from Chichester & Littlehampton harbours; with horseracing and the renowned Festival of Speed & Revival motorsport events at glorious Goodwood.  Further afield, Brighton, Chichester & Horsham have the top High Street shopping names and host theatre productions; plus a variety of cultural events and exhibitions.

With its characteristic "New England" grey & white exterior, this individual single-storey home is the product of architect inspired re-building and new construction, making it effectively a new property in 2010. Combining style and space, this highly insulated "designer" home is at one with its lush green garden surroundings.

The generous layout provides two double bedroom suites, each having their own bath or shower room.  The beautiful glass and timbered drawing room gives an elevated view at the front; and has a sunny deck terrace.  This is in addition to the raised terrace at the rear of the building, which is hidden in carefully chosen planting to enjoy sun & natural privacy.

Interior fittings have been upgraded more recently, the kitchen has been refitted and the main bedroom reminds you of a Boutique Hotel room, whilst the guest suite echoes the external New England theme, with soft white décor and custom made shutters.  Savoy bathroom ware is featured in the en-suite bathroom.  The property has wood floors or fitted carpets; and includes a separate utility room off the kitchen breakfast room as well as a cloakroom off the hall.

In all, an unique home ideal as a downsizing main residence, or a wonderful second home/escape to the country.
