The Martlets
West Chiltington

Location
West Chiltington lies on high ground to the north-west of Storrington and contains a broad mixture of properties, set in its winding lanes.  Martlets is at the top of Common Hill, a short walk from local shops and amenities at Haglands Lane; and with wonderful walking country nearby.  West Chiltington has a picturesque cricket ground and the Village Hall hosts a variety of societies and functions. Inns & restaurants locally include The Five Bells and the Rising Sun at Nutbourne.
About 1½ miles away, Storrington's lively village centre has traditional shops serving everyday needs and enjoys a friendly atmosphere.  There are coffee shops, restaurants and take-aways. Other amenities include the public library, Post Office, and Glebe Health Centre.
The Waitrose store in Old Mill Square is a John Lewis collection point and has a Costa alongside.  Larger Tesco & Sainsbury's stores are in neighbouring Pulborough. Leisure activities include Chanctonbury Leisure Centre & gym (swimming at Steyning & Billingshurst), plus golf, squash & tennis clubs.  Further afield there is horseracing & motorsport at Goodwood, sailing at the South Coast; plus the top High Street names, theatre & cultural activities in Horsham, Chichester and Brighton.
The property
This 1960's detached two-level home has a light atmosphere and good room sizes. The versatile layout equally suits a family requiring three bedrooms, or those who want a separate dining room and an additional room as a study/office. There are two bedroom and shower room suites; plus a contemporary main bathroom.
Our clients had a new conservatory built, adding a calm and relaxing extra space to the big kitchen breakfast room and enjoying an outlook over the mature garden with banks of azaleas & rhododendrons.  At the front there are impressive distant views from the dining room and main bedroom over the surrounding area towards Nutbourne.  The rear garden is naturally private, featuring a broad, sunny terrace.  To the west side is an additional area of garden with a pedestrian gate to Common Hill.
Heating is by gas, the central warm-air unit having recently been replaced.
For increased economy, there are photo-voltaic cells on the roof which our seller clients say save them about £400 a year in electricity costs.
With over 1,500 sq ft internal space, this is the only home of its type in the close - book your appointment to view.
