Tudor Village

The Location

Tudor Village lies on the north-east side of Storrington, a walk from farmland and woodland along the lane, as well as St Georges Warren (National Trust high heath & woodland) with wonderful views and country walks. This well-spaced private close contains homes of varying size and design, arranged around a top circle and all displaying a traditional English country cottage theme, built with reclaimed and seasoned materials.  With its coffee shops, and traditional traders serving everyday needs, Storrington's lively village centre is a little over a mile away and enjoys a friendly atmosphere and community.  There are good restaurants and take-aways and other amenities include the public library, Post Office, and Health Centre. Waitrose has a large store in Old Mill Square (John Lewis collection point) with Costa Coffee alongside; and there is a new M&S garage & 24 hour shop at Ashington.  Larger Tesco & Sainsbury's stores are in neighbouring Pulborough. There is easy access to the A24 at the end of Rock Road within about a mile.  Leisure activities include Chanctonbury Leisure Centre & gym (swimming pool at Steyning), golf, squash & tennis clubs.  Further afield there is horseracing & motorsport at Goodwood, sailing at the South Coast; plus the top High Street names, theatre & cultural activities in Horsham, Chichester and Brighton.

The property

White Cottage was built in the 1950's, its mellow clay roof tiles, diamond lattice windows and external timbering evoking the Tudor theme of the close. The house has been updated and enlarged over the years, with a bigger kitchen; and a generous size conservatory in addition to three other "day rooms" downstairs. The main bedroom has a large en-suite bath & shower room and the second bedroom has a hidden home office/study area that could be added back to the bedroom if required. Beautiful gardens & grounds of about half an acre provide a lovely mature setting, widening considerably behind the house. Definitely a house not to miss if you are looking either for family accommodation, or a light and comfortable downsizing home.
